- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 9. The court in a criminal complaint arising from a domestic violence incident:
a. Shall not dismiss any charge or delay disposition of a case because of concurrent dissolution of a marriage, other civil proceedings, or because the victim has left the residence to avoid further incidents of domestic violence;
b. Shall not require proof that either party is seeking a dissolution of a marriage prior to institution of criminal proceedings;
c. Shall waive any requirement that the victim’s location be disclosed to any person.
