Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 39:4-14.4

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No person shall sell or offer to sell, or rent or offer to rent, whether it be by retail, wholesale or by auction, any bicycle manufactured on or after the effective date of this act unless such bicycle is equipped with front, rear and pedal reflectors and either (a) side reflectors; or (b) retroreflective tire sidewalls which shall form a continuous circle on each sidewall, in order to permit recognition and identification under illumination from motor vehicle headlamps. Such front, rear, pedal and side reflectors shall be colored and mounted in conformity with regulations promulgated by the Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs.
