Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40A:9-22.11

  • local finance board: means the Local Finance Board in the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs. See New Jersey Statutes 40A:1-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The finding by the Local Finance Board or a county or municipal ethics board that an appointed local government officer or employee is guilty of the violation of the provisions of this act, or of any code of ethics in effect pursuant to this act, shall be sufficient cause for his removal, suspension, demotion or other disciplinary action by the officer or agency having the power of removal or discipline. When a person who is in the career service is charged with violating the provisions of this act or any code of ethics in effect pursuant to this act, the procedure leading to removal, suspension, demotion or other disciplinary action shall be governed by any applicable procedures of Title 11A of the New Jersey Statutes and the rules promulgated pursuant thereto.
