Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 5:12-197

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 7. Sums wagered at a casino on the result of a simulcast horse race at an in-State sending track shall be included in the appropriate parimutuel pool generated at the in-State sending track for the race being transmitted. The parimutuel pool on the simulcast horse races originating at an in-State sending track shall be divided pursuant to section 8 of this act. Payments to persons holding winning tickets at a casino shall be made according to the same odds as those generated at the in-State sending track. A person placing a wager on a simulcast horse race at a casino shall not be charged a fee for placing the wager in addition to the amount wagered.
