- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 4. If any provision of this act, P.L.2014, c.23, amending section 1 of P.L.2013, c.27 (C. 5:12-95.17), section 20 of P.L.2013, c.27 (C. 5:12-95.22), and section 100 of P.L.1977, c.110 (C. 5:12-100), or its application to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or invalid, the unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this act which can be given effect without the unconstitutional or invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this act shall be severable.
