  • Abandoned: Ceased from maintenance or use by the person with legal right to the real property with the intent of not again maintaining the real property in the foreseeable future. See North Carolina General Statutes 65-85
  • Cemetery: A tract of land used for burial of multiple graves. See North Carolina General Statutes 65-85
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Decedent: A deceased person.
  • Department: The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. See North Carolina General Statutes 65-85
  • Fiduciary: A trustee, executor, or administrator.
