This chapter applies to all birth, fetal death, or death certificates and records, and reports of marriage, divorce, dissolution of marriage, or annulment of marriage received by the department of health prior to the effective date of this section and in the custody of the state registrar or a local registrar, but nothing in this chapter affects the validity of any certificate, record, or report created or filed prior to the effective date of this section.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 3705.28

  • Fetal death: means death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of human conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, which after such expulsion or extraction does not breathe or show any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles.   • State registrar: means the head of the office of vital statistics in the department of health. See Ohio Code 3705.01
