Terms Used In Oregon Statutes > Chapter 93 > Uniform Real Property Transfer On Death Act

  • Administrative license: means a license issued under ORS § 342. See Oregon Statutes 342.120
  • Administrator: includes but is not limited to all superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals and academic program directors in public schools or education service districts who have direct responsibility for supervision or evaluation of licensed teachers and who are compensated for their services from public funds. See Oregon Statutes 342.120
  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Approved educator preparation program: means a licensure program that:

    (a) Prepares persons to become educators in any grade from preprimary through grade 12;

    (b) Is offered by an approved educator preparation provider; and

    (c) Meets the standards of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, as provided by ORS § 342. See Oregon Statutes 342.120

  • Approved educator preparation provider: means a sponsor or provider of an educator preparation program that meets the standards of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, as provided by ORS § 342. See Oregon Statutes 342.120
  • Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC
  • Board: means the board of education of a community college district. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • community college: means a public institution operated by a community college district for the purposes of providing courses of study limited to not more than two years' full-time attendance and designed to meet the needs of a geographical area by providing educational services, including but not limited to career and technical education programs or lower division collegiate programs. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • Community college district: includes a community college service district. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • County surveyor: means an individual appointed or elected to the office of county surveyor and who is responsible for performing the duties of such office as described by law. See Oregon Statutes 209.005
  • Decedent: A deceased person.
  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • district: means a district formed under this chapter to operate one or more community colleges or to secure educational services available at a community college. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • Geodetic control: means horizontal or vertical survey monuments that are primarily intended to be used as reference positions for other surveys or that serve to extend the national geodetic control network. See Oregon Statutes 209.005
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Grand jury: agreement providing that a lender will delay exercising its rights (in the case of a mortgage,

  • Legacy: A gift of property made by will.
  • Monument: means any permanent material object or collection of objects, either natural or man-made, that indicates the position on the ground of a survey station, public land survey corner or accessories, or a land boundary corner established by a qualified surveyor. See Oregon Statutes 209.005
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • Paying agent and registrar: means the county treasurer or county fiscal officer of the county in which the chief administrative officer of the community college district maintains the administrative office. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • Public land survey corner: means a section corner, one-quarter section corner, Donation Land Claim corner, meander corner, witness corner or any other corner established by the General Land Office or its successor. See Oregon Statutes 209.005
  • Registered professional land surveyor: has the meaning given that term in ORS § 672. See Oregon Statutes 209.005
  • Right of survivorship: The ownership rights that result in the acquisition of title to property by reason of having survived other co-owners.
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • Teacher: includes all licensed employees in the public schools or employed by an education service district who have direct responsibility for instruction or coordination of educational programs and who are compensated for their services from public funds. See Oregon Statutes 342.120
  • Teaching license: means a license issued under ORS § 342. See Oregon Statutes 342.120
