It is unlawful for the recorder of deeds or the registrar of titles or any city or town clerk or employee of these to accept, file, or record any map, plat, replat, survey, or other documents within the definition of land surveying which do not have impressed on them and affixed to them the personal signature, date, and seal of a professional land surveyor registered under this chapter and by whom or under whose direct supervision the map, plat, replat, survey, or other documents were prepared.

- town: may be construed to include city; the words "town council" include city council; the words "town clerk" include city clerk; the words "ward clerk" include clerk of election district; the words "town treasurer" include city treasurer; and the words "town sergeant" include city sergeant.
