Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 9 Sec. 3884

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Person: shall include any natural person, corporation, municipality, the State of Vermont or any department, agency, or subdivision of the State, and any partnership, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See
  • Precious metal: means used gold, silver, platinum, palladium, coins sold for more than face value, jewelry, or similar items, but does not include an antique. See

§ 3884. Private right of action

A person injured by a precious metal dealer’s violation of this chapter may bring an action against the dealer for damages arising from the violation. (Added 2013, No. 196 (Adj. Sess.), § 3, eff. Jan. 1, 2015.)
