(a) An individual licensed as a professional counselor pursuant to § 20-195dd may practice professional counseling. The practice of professional counseling includes, but is not limited to, engaging in the independent practice of professional counseling.
(b) An individual licensed as a professional counselor associate pursuant to subsection (d) of § 20-195dd may practice professional counseling under professional supervision. Except as provided in subsection (c) of § 20-195bb, a licensed professional counselor associate may not engage in the independent practice of professional counseling.
