(a)        Each limited partnership must maintain a registered office and registered agent as required by Article 4 of Chapter 55D of the N.C. Gen. Stat. and is subject to service on the Secretary of State under that Article.

(b)        Limited partnerships formed prior to October 1, 1986, shall file a certificate of limited partnership with the Office of the Secretary of State pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 59-201(a) designating the address of the registered office of the limited partnership and the identity of the registered agent at such address.
