Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 47.30.810
- Habeas corpus: A writ that is usually used to bring a prisoner before the court to determine the legality of his imprisonment. It may also be used to bring a person in custody before the court to give testimony, or to be prosecuted.
- person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
Nothing in Alaska Stat. § 47.30.660 – 47.30.915 may be construed as limiting a person‘s right to a writ of habeas corpus.
