Terms Used In Delaware Code > Title 16 > Chapter 30F > Subchapter VI - Research Animal Retirement Act.
- Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
- Ionizing radiation: means gamma rays and x-rays, alpha and beta particles, high-speed electrons, neutrons, protons, and other nuclear particles, but not sound or radio waves or visible, infrared or ultraviolet light. See Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 7403
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Month: means a calendar month, unless otherwise expressed. See Delaware Code Title 1 Sec. 302
- Radioactive material: means any material (solid, liquid or gas) which emits ionizing radiation spontaneously. See Delaware Code Title 16 Sec. 7403
- State: means the State of Delaware; and when applied to different parts of the United States, it includes the District of Columbia and the several territories and possessions of the United States. See Delaware Code Title 1 Sec. 302
