Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 447:1
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
- state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
If a person shall perform labor, provide professional design services as defined in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 447:2, or furnish materials toward building, repairing, fitting or furnishing a vessel within this state, payment for which is due, he or she shall have a lien therefor on the vessel for the space of 4 days after it is completed.
