West Virginia shall be a participating state in the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal Disease Traceability program. The commissioner may propose rules for legislative approval in accordance with the provisions of § 29A-3-1 et seq. of this code governing the collection of farm premises and animal identification data.

- State: when applied to a part of the United States and not restricted by the context, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" also include the said district and territories. See West Virginia Code 2-2-10
The premises and animal identification data collected by the commissioner in accordance with the requirements of the Animal Disease Traceability program are specifically exempt from disclosure under the provisions of § 29B-1-1 et seq. of this code.
