Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 31 Sec. 442

  • Town: shall include city and wards or precincts therein; "selectboard members" and "board of civil authority" shall extend to and include the mayor and aldermen of cities; "trustees" shall extend to and include bailiffs of incorporated villages; and the laws applicable to the inhabitants and officers of towns shall be applicable to the inhabitants and similar officers of all municipal corporations. § 442. Licenses for theatres and similar entertainment

The selectboard of a town, trustees of an incorporated village, and the aldermen of a city may grant licenses and fix a fee therefor, for theatres, shows, moving picture shows, or concert halls operated and maintained for profit, may revoke the same, and may also, after hearing, refuse to grant such a license when, in their judgment, the public good requires.
