32-2-826. Membership in federal home loan bank. (1) A mutual association may be a member of the federal home loan bank of this federal reserve banking district as far as may be compatible with the constitution of this state and the laws of the United States.

Terms Used In Montana Code 32-2-826

  • Department: means the department of administration provided for in 2-15-1001. See Montana Code 32-2-603
  • Member: means all holders of the mutual association's savings, demand, including other authorized members on accounts. See Montana Code 32-2-603
  • Mutual association: means any corporation that has been incorporated to conduct the business of receiving money on deposit from its members and making substantially all of its loans on one-to-four family real estate mortgage security. See Montana Code 32-2-603
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
  • United States: includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201

(2)The department, on request of any federal home loan bank, shall furnish that bank any information it may have relative to the finances, manner of business, methods of bookkeeping, and any other information relating to a mutual association that is a member of, seeking to become a member of, a borrower from, or seeking to become a borrower from a federal home loan bank.
