- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Oath: includes an affirmation in all cases where an affirmation may be substituted for an oath, and in similar cases "swear" includes affirm. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
It shall not be necessary for the county surveyor to take an oath or affirmation before commencing such surveyor’s duties to survey roads, except as provided by law, when such surveyor takes oath of office.
