- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Family: means persons whose children, spouses, siblings, parents, grandparents, or grandchildren have a serious mental health disorder. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4242
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Serious mental health disorder: means a mental health disorder that is severe in degree and persistent in duration and that may cause a behavioral disorder or impair functioning so as to interfere substantially with activities of daily living. See California Welfare and Institutions Code 4242
