(a) A qualified organization which does not hold a permit pursuant to Section 45-51-150.03 may apply for a special permit for conducting a bingo session at a designated location for a special occasion. Such an applicant shall submit to the sheriff a written application prepared in accordance with and on a form prescribed by rule of the sheriff. The application shall include the information required by subsection (b) of Section 45-51-150.03, except that the applicant shall indicate the day or days on which the applicant will conduct the bingo session for the special occasion. Upon a determination by the sheriff that the applicant is a qualified organization and is not ineligible pursuant to Section 45-51-150.13 and upon the applicant’s payment of the required fee under this subsection to the sheriff’s department, the sheriff may issue a special permit. The special permit fee shall be ten dollars ($10) per day.

Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-51-150.04

  • year: means a calendar year; but, whenever the word "year" is used in reference to any appropriations for the payment of money out of the treasury, it shall mean fiscal year. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
(b) A special permit shall contain the name and address of the permit holder and shall specify the location and the day on which the permit holder may conduct the bingo session.
(c) Up to six special permits for one day each, not to exceed 10 hours, may be issued per qualified organization per year. Such days may be consecutive.
(d) Special permits are not transferable or assignable.
