Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-31-231.28

  • circuit: means judicial circuit. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • following: means next after. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • year: means a calendar year; but, whenever the word "year" is used in reference to any appropriations for the payment of money out of the treasury, it shall mean fiscal year. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

The sheriff shall prepare an annual report to be filed not later than 60 days from the close of each fiscal year. A copy of the report shall be filed with each of the following persons or agencies: The board, the governing bodies to which this subpart applies, and to the circuit and district judges serving Geneva County. This report shall include, but not be limited to, the prior year activities, including number of inmates participating in the program, monies earned and disposition thereof, general effectiveness of the program, and any recommendation for the activities of the current year, and other pertinent information. Supporting documentation for this report shall be supplied to the sheriff by the organization making investigations or background checks for work release within 30 days of the end of the fiscal year.
