Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-49A-81.06

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • circuit: means judicial circuit. See Alabama Code 1-1-1

The City Council of the City of Prichard, Alabama, shall hear and decide all applications for pensions and relief under this part, and the decision upon such application shall be final and conclusive, and not subject to review or reversal except by such city council. The city council shall cause a complete and separate record to be kept of all its meetings and proceedings under this part. Provided, however, that in the event of a willful, fraudulent, or discriminatory interpretation of the terms of this part by the city council, the same shall be subject to review by the Circuit Court of Mobile County, Alabama, with the right of appeal to either party.
