Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 750 ILCS 46/313

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Department of Healthcare and Family Services may release information relating to the voluntary acknowledgment described in Section 301 of this Act, or the related denial, to a signatory of the voluntary acknowledgment or denial; to the child’s guardian, the emancipated child, or the legal representatives of those individuals; to appropriate federal agencies; and to courts and appropriate agencies of this State or another state.
