(a) A person commits an offense if the person wilfully fails to send a driver’s license or vehicle registration as required by § 601.372. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.
(b) The department may direct a department employee to obtain and send to the department the driver’s license and vehicle registration of a person who fails to send the person’s license or registration in accordance with § 601.372. The director of the department or the person designated by the director may file a complaint against a person for an offense under Subsection (a).
