Terms Used In Texas Tax Code 201.352
- Comptroller: means the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of Texas. See Texas Tax Code 1.04
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
On notice from the comptroller, no person may produce or remove natural or casinghead gas from a lease in this state if the owner or operator of the lease has failed to file a report or pay a tax as required by this chapter.
