- person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
- seal: means a seal of high tensile strength that is approved by the secretary of state under section 36. See Michigan Laws 168.14a
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The county clerk of each county which alone constitutes 1 or more senatorial or representative districts shall, upon suitable blank forms furnished by the secretary of state, transmit by mail, without delay, to the secretary of state a copy of such certificate of determination certified by said county clerk under his hand and seal of office. The said county clerk shall at the same time report to the secretary of state the postoffice address of each person elected in said county to any county office or to the office of state senator or representative in the legislature.
