This subpart explains the applicability of the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA). This section covers:
Terms Used In 25 CFR 1000.270
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
(a) Coverage of claims arising out of the performance of functions under Self-Governance AFA’s; and
(b) Procedures for filing claims under FTCA.
