(a) In general
Nothing in this subchapter shall prevent a State, or interstate permitting authority, from establishing additional permitting requirements not inconsistent with this chapter.
(b) Permits implementing acid rain provisions
Terms Used In 42 USC 7661e
- permitting authority: means the Administrator or the air pollution control agency authorized by the Administrator to carry out a permit program under this subchapter. See 42 USC 7661
- State: means a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa and includes the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. See 42 USC 7602
The provisions of this subchapter, including provisions regarding schedules for submission and approval or disapproval of permit applications, shall apply to permits implementing the requirements of subchapter IV-A except as modified by that subchapter.
