Unless the context plainly indicates otherwise, the following words and terms shall have the meanings hereby ascribed to them:
Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-37A-56.22
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- following: means next after. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
