Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-42-162.05
- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.

The metropolitan-government created by this part, and approved by the voters, on 60 days’ notice, may at any time thereafter assume all functions, rights, duties, personnel, property, assets, and liabilities of any independent special district operating within the geographical jurisdiction of the metropolitan, which district may thereupon be dissolved.
