- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
If a majority of the qualified electors in the district voting in an election on the question vote in the affirmative, then the land in the district shall be subject to the planning and land use control jurisdiction of the board.
