(a) Each court reporter of the Eighth Judicial Circuit shall be paid an expense allowance of one hundred dollars ($100) per month. Such expense allowances shall be paid out of the general funds of the counties comprising the circuit. Each county shall pay the portion of such allowances which equals the percentage the county’s population bears to the population of the whole circuit according to the most recent federal decennial census.

Terms Used In Alabama Code 45-52-81.03

  • circuit: means judicial circuit. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • Court reporter: A person who makes a word-for-word record of what is said in court and produces a transcript of the proceedings upon request.
  • month: means a calendar month. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
  • Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Alabama Code 1-1-1
(b) Each court reporter for the Eighth Judicial Circuit shall be allowed and paid an additional one hundred dollars ($100) per month as an expense allowance which shall be in addition to any and all other pay, compensation, or expense allowances provided for by law. The expense allowances shall be paid out of the general fund of the counties comprising the Eighth Judicial Circuit and the amount paid by each county in the circuit shall be based on the population that each county bears to the population of the whole circuit.
(c)

(1) Each court reporter for the Eighth Judicial Circuit shall be entitled to receive an expense allowance in the amount of fifty dollars ($50) per month from each county within the circuit. Such expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all compensation such officer may now or hereafter receive from the State of Alabama or the counties composing the circuit, and shall be paid from the general funds of such counties.
(2) The expense allowances provided hereinabove shall be payable retroactively to April 1, 1975.
(d) Each court reporter for the Eighth Judicial Circuit shall be allowed and paid an additional two hundred dollars ($200) per month as an expense allowance which shall be in addition to any and all other pay, compensation, or expense allowances provided by law. The expense allowance shall be paid out of the general fund of the county comprising the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
(e) Each court reporter for the Eighth Judicial Circuit shall be allowed and paid an additional three hundred dollars ($300) per month as an expense allowance which shall be in addition to any and all other pay, compensation, or expense allowances provided by law. The expense allowance shall be paid out of the general fund of the county comprising the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
(f) Each court reporter of the Eighth Judicial Circuit composed of Morgan County shall be paid one thousand one hundred fifty dollars ($1,150) per month total expense allowance which shall be in addition to any and all other compensation provided by law. The expense allowances shall be paid out of the General Fund of Morgan County.
(g) Each court reporter of the Eighth Judicial Circuit composed of Morgan County shall be entitled to receive an additional expense allowance in the amount of two hundred dollars ($200) per month. The expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation provided by law and shall be paid out of the General Fund of Morgan County as are other expense allowances.
