(a) Effective beginning on the first day of the month following the effective date of this act, the Judge of Probate of Pickens County shall receive an additional expense allowance in an amount equal to the difference in the salary of the judge of probate on the effective date of this act and eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) per year payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund of the county. This expense allowance shall be in addition to any other salary, expense allowance, or compensation the judge of probate is receiving.

(b) Effective beginning the next term of office after the effective date of this act, the Judge of Probate of Pickens County shall receive an annual salary of eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) per year, and subsection (a) shall be void.
(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 11-2A-4, Code of Alabama 1975, or any other law to the contrary, beginning the next term of office after the effective date of this act, the judge of probate shall continue to be entitled to the same uniform increases in compensation, such as cost-of-living increases, received by other elected county officers, and the amount of the annual increases shall be added to the permanent salary of the judge of probate.
