Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 10.20.420

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • domestic corporation: means a nonprofit corporation subject to the provisions of this chapter, except a foreign corporation. See Alaska Statutes 10.20.920
  • foreign corporation: means a nonprofit corporation organized under laws other than the laws of this state. See Alaska Statutes 10.20.920
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

A receiver shall be a citizen of the United States or a corporation authorized to act as receiver, which corporation may be a domestic corporation or a foreign corporation authorized to transact business in the state. A receiver shall give the bond the court directs with sureties the court requires.
