Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 16.20.060

  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

If the commissioner so determines, the commissioner shall, in the letter of acknowledgment required under Alaska Stat. § 16.20.050, require the person or governmental agency to submit full plans for the anticipated use, full plans and specifications of proposed construction work, complete plans and specifications for the proper protection of fish and game, and the approximate date when the construction or work is to commence, and shall require the person or governmental agency to obtain the written approval of the commissioner as to the sufficiency of the plans or specifications before construction is commenced. The commissioner shall abide by the principle that recognizes preferences among beneficial uses as more particularly set forth in art. VIII of the state constitution.
