(a) The commissioner of public safety may adopt regulations to exempt a person or a class of persons from the requirements of Alaska Stat. § 28.05.095 if the commissioner determines that the use of a safety belt or child safety device is impractical because of physical or medical conditions of the person or class of persons.

  • commissioner: means the commissioner of administration. See Alaska Statutes 28.90.990
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) The commissioner of public safety shall specify alternative means of protection for children exempted under this section.
