Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 37.05.180

  • property: includes real and personal property. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

A warrant upon the state treasury may not be paid unless presented at the office of the commissioner of revenue within six months of the date of its issuance. A warrant not presented within that time is presumed abandoned, except where the warrant is for the payment of a permanent fund dividend or a benefit payment or refund under Alaska Stat. Chapter 14.25, Alaska Stat. Chapter 22.25, Alaska Stat. Chapter 26.05, Alaska Stat. Chapter 39.30, Alaska Stat. Chapter 39.35, former Alaska Stat. Chapter 39.37, or Alaska Stat. Chapter 39.45. Money held for an abandoned warrant shall be delivered to the custody of the Department of Revenue to be administered as unclaimed property under Alaska Stat. Chapter 34.45.
