If the licensee requests and the commissioner determines that the work commitment obligation set out in an exploration license issued under Alaska Stat. § 38.05.132 has been met, the commissioner shall convert to one or more leases all or part, as the licensee may indicate, of the area described in the exploration license that remains after the relinquishments, removals, or deletions required by Alaska Stat. § 38.05.132(d)(2). Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 38.05.134
- commissioner: means the commissioner of natural resources. See Alaska Statutes 38.05.965

- state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
