Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 38.10.040

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

Conveyances by the municipal corporation to a preference right holder, or any other conveyance, lease, or disposal by the municipality under this chapter shall be in accordance with Alaska Stat. Chapter 38.05 except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
