Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 44.21.040

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
(1) the name of the claimant;
(2) the amount of the claim;
(3) the date of its presentation;
(4) the date of its allowance or disallowance;
(5) the date and number of each disbursement made;
(6) the name of the payee; and
(7) the appropriation from which the disbursement is made.
(b) The Department of Administration shall keep on file all original bills and claims presented, with the vouchers.
