(a) A charitable organization that suffers damages as a result of a violation of this chapter by another charitable organization or by a paid solicitor may bring a civil action against the violator.

action: includes any matter or proceeding in a court, civil or criminal. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) A person who makes a contribution to a charitable organization or to a paid solicitor that violates this chapter may bring a civil action against the violator.(c) In an action under (a) or (b) of this section, a court may
(1) award damages for the violation;(2) enjoin future violations;(3) provide other relief that the court determines is necessary to restore to the person damaged real or personal property that was acquired by the violator by means of the violation;(4) require the violator, under appropriate circumstances, to pay the full attorney fees and costs incurred by the charitable organization or other person bringing the action.(d) A charitable organization or other person who brings an action under this section shall serve a copy of the complaint on the department when the action is filed, and, upon entry of an order or judgment in the action, shall mail a copy of the order or judgment to the department.
