The Alcoholic Beverage Control Appeals Board shall exercise such powers as are vested in it by Section 22 of Article XX of the Constitution and may adopt such rules pertaining to appeals and other matters within its jurisdiction as may be required. The board and its duly authorized representatives in the performance of its duties under this chapter shall have the powers of a head of a department as set forth in Sections 11180 to 11191, inclusive, of the Government Code.

  • board: means any entity listed in Section 101, the entities referred to in Sections 1000 and 3600, the State Bar, the Department of Real Estate, and any other state agency that issues a license, certificate, or registration authorizing a person to engage in a business or profession.   • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
