(a) There shall be charged a fee of seventy dollars for each renewal of a commercial driver‘s license.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 14-44i

  • Commissioner: includes the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and any assistant to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles who is designated and authorized by, and who is acting for, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles under a designation. See Connecticut General Statutes 14-1
  • Driver: means any person who drives, operates or is in physical control of a commercial motor vehicle, or who is required to hold a commercial driver's license. See Connecticut General Statutes 14-1
  • Person: includes any individual, corporation, limited liability company, association, copartnership, company, firm, business trust or other aggregation of individuals but does not include the state or any political subdivision thereof, unless the context clearly states or requires. See Connecticut General Statutes 14-1
  • Vehicle: includes any device suitable for the conveyance, drawing or other transportation of persons or property, whether operated on wheels, runners, a cushion of air or by any other means. See Connecticut General Statutes 14-1

(b) There shall be charged for each commercial driver’s license knowledge test a fee of sixteen dollars. There shall be charged for each commercial driver’s license skills test a fee of thirty dollars. There shall be charged for each commercial driver’s instruction permit a fee of twenty dollars.

(c) There shall be charged, in addition to the fee provided in subsection (b) of this section for the commercial driver’s license knowledge test, a fee of five dollars for each test for an endorsement to a commercial driver’s license. There shall be charged, in addition to the fee provided in subsection (b) for such knowledge test, a fee of five dollars for each test for the removal of a restriction to a commercial driver’s license relating to air brakes. There shall be charged, in addition to the fee provided in subsection (b) for such knowledge test, a fee of five dollars for each combination vehicle knowledge test.

(d) The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall waive the fees established by subsection (b) of this section in the case of any person who applies for a commercial driver’s license with an “S” endorsement.
