On receipt of a written charge by the department, the practitioner named therein shall be given notice and afforded opportunity for hearing, in accordance with the regulations adopted by the Commissioner of Public Health. The Attorney General shall, upon request, furnish legal assistance to the board. If the board, by a majority vote of its members, finds the existence of any of the causes set forth in § 20-271, it may take any of the actions set forth in § 19a-17.
