(a) The Department of Consumer Protection may, in its discretion, revoke, suspend or place conditions on any permit or provisional permit or impose a fine of not greater than one thousand dollars per violation, upon cause found after hearing, provided ten days’ written notice of such hearing has been given to the permittee setting forth, with the particulars required in civil pleadings, the charges upon which such proposed revocation, suspension, condition or fine is predicated. Any appeal from such order of revocation, suspension, condition or fine shall be taken in accordance with the provisions of § 4-183.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 30-55

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.

(b) The surrender of a permit or provisional permit for cancellation or the expiration of a permit shall not prevent the department from suspending or revoking any such permit pursuant to the provisions of this section.
