Connecticut General Statutes 9-163cc – Early voting state-wide public awareness campaign. Early voting procedure manual for distribution to municipal election officials
(a) The Secretary of the State may, within available appropriations, develop and conduct a state-wide public awareness campaign to educate the public regarding the availability of early voting at elections and primaries and to provide information to the public concerning such early voting, including, but not limited to, the number of days of early voting prior to an election or primary, the hours for early voting during such days and the procedures for casting a ballot at locations designated for the conduct of early voting.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 9-163cc
- Election: means any electors' meeting at which the electors choose public officials by use of voting tabulators or by paper ballots as provided in section 9-272. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
- Municipal clerk: means the clerk of a municipality. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
- Voters: means those persons qualified to vote under the provisions of section 7-6. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
(b) The Secretary of the State shall develop an early voting procedure manual, which shall include, but need not be limited to, a model plan for the designation and staffing of locations for the conduct of early voting, and shall revise such procedure manual as necessary in accordance with changes in the law relating to the conduct of early voting. The Secretary shall distribute such procedure manual, and any revision to such procedure manual, to each registrar of voters and municipal clerk and shall publish such procedure manual, and any such revision, on the Internet web site of the office of the Secretary of the State.
