The legislative body of any town, consolidated town and city or consolidated town and borough which elects municipal officers from political subdivisions may establish, in accordance with the provisions of § 9-169, for use in municipal elections and primaries, voting districts which cross congressional, senatorial or assembly district lines, but which do not cross municipal political subdivision lines, provided no special state election may be held on the same day as a regular municipal election in such municipalities.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 9-169d
- Election: means any electors' meeting at which the electors choose public officials by use of voting tabulators or by paper ballots as provided in §. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
- legislative body: means : (1) As applied to unconsolidated towns, the town meeting. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
- Municipal election: means the regularly recurring election held in a municipality at which the electors of the municipality choose public officials of such municipality. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
