In any municipality which, under the provisions of a special act, nominates one or more candidates for municipal office without party designation by nominating petitions or in nonpartisan primaries in addition to the nomination of one or more candidates for such office under party designation, the provisions of this chapter shall apply only to the nomination of such candidates for election therein as are nominated and voted upon under party designation.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 9-378

  • Election: means any electors' meeting at which the electors choose public officials by use of voting tabulators or by paper ballots as provided in §. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-1
  • Municipal office: means an elective office for which only the electors of a single town, city, borough, or political subdivision, as defined in subdivision (10) of this section, may vote, including the office of justice of the peace. See Connecticut General Statutes 9-372
