(1) Each of the Regional Training Councils established pursuant to Fl. Admin. Code R. 11B-18.005, and Florida Statutes § 943.25(4), shall elect a chairperson and other officers needed, and shall hold at least two meetings each fiscal year to develop and approve the regional Officer Training Monies budgets, and may hold other meetings to consider other items pertaining to law enforcement, correctional, or correctional probation officer training. A majority of Regional Training Council members shall be in attendance to constitute a quorum.

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
    (2) Three members or the chairperson of a Regional Training Council may request a meeting.
    (3) For the purpose of developing and approving regional Officer Training Monies budgets, a quorum of a Regional Training Council’s members shall meet, and a majority vote of those members in attendance is required to reach a decision.
    (4) Each of the Regional Training Councils created pursuant to Fl. Admin. Code R. 11B-18.005, and Florida Statutes § 943.25(4), shall adopt rules of parliamentary procedure, and the minutes of each meeting shall be recorded and submitted to Commission staff for review.
